Sustainable Fishery Systems
An interdisciplinary guide to managing fisheries for sustainability, based on understanding fisheries through a systems approach.
Sustainable Fishery Systems explores the structure of fishery systems, and discusses issues of conflict, collapse and conservation, as well as fishery connections with climate change, protected areas, aquatic ecosystems and multi-sectoral management. The book places an emphasis on the role of fishing communities and Indigenous communities, and how they use diverse knowledge sources to pursue conservation, both on land and in marine environments.
Communities, Conservation and Livelihoods
This open-access book celebrates the efforts of local communities around the world, all successfully meeting the challenge of combining environmental conservation and sustainable livelihoods.
Communities, Conservation and Livelihoods, co-published by CCRN & IUCN-CEESP, highlights how conservation and livelihoods support one another, as communities bring positive change, and lead the way toward a sustainable world. The book covers important issues and ideas relevant to local communities, community groups, non-governmental organizations, government policymakers and others. It is suitable for use by educational bodies such as high schools, colleges, universities, and adult education programs.
